Recon Scout® is the military’s choicest spy robot. It is used in most war zones and in hostage standoffs. Recon Scout® can be controlled remotely from 120 feet. It can capture videos. The Throwbot®, which was developed in 2012, is Recon’s most exciting creation ever. Aside from video, it is also capable of picking up audio from a distance of 30 feet. The creation was so convincing that the military placed initial orders of 1,000 units of Throwbot®.
ReconRobotics was founded for commercial production of the technologies developed by the University of Minnesota Distributed Robotics Laboratory through the funding of the National Science Foundation and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
