Energy XXI has properties in Louisiana, Texas and in the Gulf of Mexico Shelf (GoM Shelf). In total, the properties of the company have a total acreage of 750,000. It is worth noting that the business operates 10 of the largest oilfields that are located on the Gulf of Mexico Shelf. In addition to their acreage, the business also has more than 16,000 square miles of 3D seismic data.
As of June 2015 reports, the business has a total proven reserves of more than 183.5 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBOE). Of this reserve, 75% is estimated to be oil, while the rest is a combination of natural gas and natural gas liquids. They have interests in 52 producing fields and based on the same report, their Ultra Deep field has proven reserves of 100% gas. The operations of the business include the West Delta 73 field, West Delta 30 field, South Timbalier 54 field, Main Pass 61, Ship Shoal208 field, South Pass 49 and 78 and the South Timbalieer 21.
It was in 2005 that Energy XXI was created. While the business now trades on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange, its initial public offering happened on the London Stock Exchange Alternative Investment Market (AIM). The company is listed as one of the components of the Russell 3000 Index.
