Bon Appétit is using compostable materials. It has existing partnerships with the Seafood Watch, Environmental Defense and Humane Society of the United States. These conservation organizations and Bon Appétit are promoting the use of compostable materials.
Because of the company’s involvement in conservation efforts, Bon Appétit was recognized by The Humane Society of the United States (2005), the Ecological Society of America (2005), and the Seafood Choices Alliance (2007).
Bon Appétit was involved in what was dubbed as Girl Scout Cookie Scandal in 2006. An employee named Tracy Lewis was terminated for “unauthorized” selling of Girl Scout Cookies. Lewis claimed that she did not have problems with selling cookies in behalf of her daughter for the past three years.
