For twelve years, Stanford University witnessed the research and development efforts of Gunnar Carlsson, Harlan Sexton and Gurjeet Singh. Through those twelve years DARPA and IAPRA grants worth $1.25 million were given to the trio for embarking in high risk but high payoff research. Finally in 2008, when success became apparent the trio founded Ayasdi. Series A investments were provided by Khosla Ventures and Floodgate Capital in 2012. In July 2013, Ayasdi gathered $30.6 million of Series B investments from Citi Ventures, GE Ventures and Institutional Venture Partners.
Ayasdi’s flagship product was the Iris. Using Topological Data Analysis or TDA, data provides insight in ways that the world has never imagined before. TDA was proven to result in innovation, saved costs, and more importantly, saved lives.
